Chipper Service
Begins the first week of April and ends the last week of October. The chipper truck starts Monday morning and works it way through the City. Depending on the amount of branches, it may take more than a week to make it through the entire City. Please be patient, especially in the spring or after a storm. Place branches in the parkway in front of your house with the stub end facing the street. Small branches can be placed into yard waste cans or bags to be removed by the garbage service.
Chipper Service Rules
- All branches must be out at 7:00am on Monday to accommodate pick-up the same week. After heavy storms or the first route of the year the chipper may take longer to make a complete cycle throughout the city.
- Branches should measure between 3ft. and 8ft. in length and not greater that 4 inches in diameter.
- Place all branches in the parkway and not on streets or in ditches, with cut ends facing the street to aid in their removal. Improperly stacked piles (cross stacked/ or bird nest stacked) will be passed by and will not be picked up until properly restacked.
- Piles of branches should be no larger than 4 ft. high and 10 ft. in length. Any branches outside of these parameters will not be collected.
- Branch pickup is for branches only (NOT entire Trees or Roots) and for branches cut down by residents NOT Tree cutting companies. If you have a tree cut down, the Tree service must remove branches/logs. We do not have the resources or equipment to pick up logs, stumps, or branches more than 6 inches in diameter.
- Your regular refuse company should pick up all other yard waste such as weeds, flowers, grass etc. Do not mix yard waste with branches because it will cause it to not be removed and you will be responsible for disposal. NO roots attached/unattached.
- Branches should be placed in the right of way from April-October.
