Early Childhood Programs

The Palos Heights Parks and Recreation Department offers early childhood programs for ages birth to 6. The Recreation Department has a variety of different classes and offers them at various times, Monday through Friday. All classes are to help children with social skills, developing fine motor skills, creative learning, and making new friends. We offer Parent-Tot classes and classes to help get children ready for preschool.

Find programs in the Palos Heights Parks and Recreation Brochure online or pick one up at the Recreation Center located at 6601 W. 127th St.

Little Sprouts

Little Sprouts is the perfect program for those children not quite ready for preschool. Your child must be 2 ½  to 3 years old, and children must be 2 ½ by the start of the program. The class offers simple projects, stories, and activities to keep your little one busy. The curriculum introduces socialization/listening skills, colors, letters, and shapes.

This class helps ease separation from parent/guardian and is a great stepping stone to our Little Learners Preschool Program. Children attend without parents. Contact Recreation Supervisor, Kara Case, by email at kcase@palosheights.org for more information.
